Who We Are

Greg Anderson
Greg Anderson was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer in 1984. He was given only 30 days to live. Refusing to accept the hopelessness of this prognosis, he went searching for people who had lived even though their doctors had told them they were “terminal.” His findings from interviews with over 16,000 cancer survivors form the strategies and action points for what has become a cancer survival movement.

In 1985, Greg started what is today Cancer Recovery Foundation International, a global group of organizations whose mission is to help all people prevent and survive cancer. Cancer Recovery Foundation of Canada is a member of Cancer Recovery Foundation International, a 5-star “Best” Award winner by Independent Charities rating service. The organizations provide adults with training and support for implementing holistic cancer prevention and survival strategies and serves children with cancer through its “Little Angels” Children’s Project.

Greg Anderson is the author of eight books which have been translated into 29 languages. They include - The Cancer Conqueror, The Triumphant Patient, Cancer: 50 Essential Things to Do, Healing Wisdom, The 22 (Non-Negotiable) Laws of Wellness, Living Life on Purpose, Journeys with the Cancer Conqueror, Come, Let’s Change the World.

Cancer Recovery Foundation of Canada
In Canada we are building on Greg’s vision. Established in 2003, Cancer Recovery Foundation Canada works to deliver simple acts of care and kindness to individuals and families experiencing cancer. Our programs focus on patient services and direct care to families affected by a child or parent’s cancer. We help to meet the physical, emotional and financial needs of those affected by cancer. All of our funding goes to assist patients directly. We do not fund medical research as we believe that in order to help families the most, the focus needs to be on today.

Last year approximately 153,000 new cases of cancer were diagnosed in Canada. While there are a number of cancer organizations across Canada, many of whom focus on research, we focus on the human or patient side of cancer. We hope that cancer will be defeated; we hope that a cure will be found for this dreaded illness; but until then, families must deal with the results of cancer. It is emotionally, physically and financially devastating. We strive to improve their quality of life today.
